The world of Golarion is changing and many of its people are embracing a new religion — technology.  Although Brevoy is still a relatively isolated land, and is anything but an industrial leader, small glimpses of this new technology have started to appear.  Most notably is the introduction of gun powder and personal firearms.  These new weapons, while still crude and unstable threaten to tear the nation apart as the noble houses feud with one another. 

Although the firearms in Brevoy are few and unsophisticated at the moment, rumors persist of gnomes and dwarves honing their craft in an effort to make ever more powerful weapons.  Travelers to Brevoy have also begun to spread tales of clockwork machines developed in the larger cities of Golarion and some have even claimed that giant carriages tied to metal lines carry passengers between distant cities in hours or days as opposed to days or weeks.  The more sensible folk of Brevoy pass these tales off as little more than a bard's fancy, but others can not help but wonder.
